Measuring success

From the start of the Programme to the end, we measure your progress along the way so we can make sure the programme is a success for you.

Initial assessment day, your starting point!

Assessment 1 – is all about balance
We’ll ask you to stand on a wobbly platform designed to check your balance. Then it only takes a few minutes to check just how wobbly you are.

Assessment 2 – is all about how your eyes track moving objects
We have a special machine with lights that move left and right, we ask you to watch them whilst we monitor you.  The hardest part is keeping your head still and letting your eyes do the work

Assessment 3 – is a bit more traditional
It helps us assess how you manage reading and writing.

Our ACE test

ACE is our special, on-line test that measures things like your reaction time, how you process sounds, recognise words and other stuff like that.  It’s a clever piece of technology. . .but the smartest thing about it is that it’s really good fun to complete.

myProgress questionnaire

myDore will automatically ask you some questions every 4 weeks.  These relate back to some questions we ask you at the start of the Programme.  They’re just another way of checking how you’re getting along.

There are some things only you can measure

If you’ve been struggling with reading and writing, balance and coordination or simply feeling overloaded with information day to day; you’ll probably see some changes yourself.

For some people the results are very fast and very obvious, so you might find that over a few weeks things just become so much easier that you and your family and friends are just wowed.

But for others progress is more gradual. Which means you’ve got to keep an eye out for signs of improvement.  It may be that you do things you didn’t do before, do things a bit differently, or feel a bit differently about certain tasks.  Note anything like this in your myDore diary as it will help you chart your progress as you go.

Don’t forget – we’re all different, so whether you’re progress is slow or fast, don't worry you will see improvements at your own pace.  But by the time you complete the course as a Dore Champion, the chances are the overall transformation will be nothing short of life changing.
