Client comments

These are just a few of the fantastic comments that our Dore client's have made...

Catherine I think I collected the wrong child from school today. (Elliott who is 10 years old has just completed the Dore program.) He came home and went straight into his room to read a book ! He has NEVER EVER done this before and he is still there reading 1 and 1/2 hours later !! Thank you Dore xx

Catherine I am the very proud mum of Elliott who has just finished the Dore and had parent's eve. His new teacher had no idea Elliott ever had any problems with reading and writing. He is top in maths and English he is doing really well. I can't thank Dore enough for these results. Anyone going through the program keep going it is worth it in the end. Anyone thinking of doing Dore you have nothing to loose and so much to gain.

Catherine A massive thank you to you for all your hard work especially Natalie for your patience and understanding. Elliott can now look forward to high school in September without the fear and panic all Dyslexic children have. Which always results in them becoming the class clown and also turning the wrong corner. Thank you all very much. Regards to Scott. Without him this would all not be possible. And without his wonderful team behind him it all works brilliantly xx

Cath Thought I would share with you all how amazing the programme is, my son started it agem 13 4 years ago in Manchester. He was being told he would never achieve good exam results at school and that he would not amoun to much, they were consdiering not letting him do GCSE'S rather he should do basic courses and basci mech...anic course at colloege. Yesterday he started college on an Advanced BTEC in engineering after getting 7 A - C GCSE's. Thank You Dore! from James and his family.

Louise Hi my name is Louise and back in 2005 my son Josh completed the DORE programme in the Cardiff centre. I just wanted to let you know that we recieved his G.C.S.E results today and i am delighted to say that he achieved four grade C's in English, Maths, Science and ICT and also passed his B-Tech course which is the equIvalent to 4 gcse's.He has been accepted into 6th form with these results. I thought you may be interested as his treatment changed his life dramatically, and gave him the confidence, ability and self esteem to go on and achieve what he has today. When Josh was 7yrs old i didn't even think he would take any exams so as you can imagine i am about to burst with pride! I hope all is going well with DORE and it is still going strong as we have lots to thank you for. Best Regards Louise

Margaret I just wanted to let you know how my son Donald has progressed since completing your remediation programme in the Edinburgh Centre when he was 11 years old. He has become a talented piper and has competed with his school pipe band at the World Pipe Band championships, plays guitar effortlessly and is generally very musical. He also plays in a local football team, is laid back, outgoing and has many friends. However the icing on the cake has been achieving an "A" in Higher Maths, History and Graphic Communication, "B" in Physics, Chemistry and English and "C" in Physical Education. He will be leaving home next month to start studying Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering at Strathclyde University. At the time the exercises were time consuming and it seemed a hard struggle, what with the distance we had to travel and the time it took to attend a single session (two days' travel plus the day of the appointment) but it has paid great dividends. Sincerely and with thanks, Margaret

Anon My son aged 15 has Asperger's syndrome and has been doing the programme for 16 months now. We are seeing a lot of progress and are really delighted for him. It can often take longer than the initial assessment, but it is well worth hanging in there!
2010/07/23 12:00:00 AM
Michelle I am now able to see a really big difference in my descriptive writing , and also when I have a crossword puzzle night with my family I am able to outsmart my mum.
2010/07/20 12:00:00 AM
Anon My son finished Dore about a year ago. Last September he went to senior school and it's like having a different child. I've just received his school report and his results are fantastic so many A's and coming top in the class in some subjects. Before he had little concentration and poor results. It's made such a difference to our lives. I can't thank you enough for this. My advice to parents when their child doesn't want to do their exercises ( It can be a problem daily!!!) keep doing them it's changed my sons life and ours for the better.
2010/07/20 12:00:00 AM
Anon . I would just like to say thank you again, teachers told me he was very bright but couldn't sit still or concentrate. This program has enabled him to do that and now he is achieving the results that he should. I would say its the best money we've spent.
2010/07/20 12:00:00 AM
Susan Just wish to thank Dore for the progress my little boy has suddenly made, been on the program since may, and this week it feels as someone has implanted memory and a renewed interest into his brain, he has began to complete maths, and always asking to read with us which before he avoided at all cost, amazed by his progress after such a short time, thank you
2010/07/12 12:00:00 AM
Natalie Had a wonderful evening - My 10 year old daughter had a spoken solo at a secondary school concert with no fear, and clapped on the same beat with her classmates. The FIRST time over she clapped with everyone, and not on the opposite beat. She is finding the exercises very hard, but we are beginning to see progress. Thankyou!!

2010/06/17 12:00:00 AM
Michelle I am now beginning to notice that I am able to grasp things quickly. I can find different connections between subjects and when I did my revision I understood what I had read and done in 10 minuets. So I am able to outsmart my mum.

2010/06/01 12:00:00 AM
Susan For today, A's homework was to take in a 'favourite' poem to the class. Of course, A does not have a favourite poem, (!) but we went through a book together last night and she chose one, practised reading it, and actually read it aloud to her whole class today! I swear she wouldn't have had the courage to do that even very recently! (It was ‘I know an old woman who swallowed a fly.......- it tickled A’s sense of humour.

Kerrie Just wanted to say thank you so much to Charlie & Donna following our visit on Saturday. S is 7 yrs 6mnths & has been following the programme since October. We are feeling really motivated & have decided on a reward system encouraging Sam to put in 100% effort. I have also decided to set myself a really difficult challenge with a similar reward system. The plan is S and I will encourage eachother. Fingers crossed! If there are any Mums/Dads with a son of similar age going through the programme we would love to hear from you.
2010/05/27 12:00:00 AM
Michelle On thursday my ICT teacher said that I did an excellant job at the task he had set for me to do. I have also noticed that when I hold small things my hands don't get as sweaty as they used to , and Im not afraid to get things wrong either.

Martin My son Matthew went through the programme some years ago and we would like to say a big thank you for keeping it going. He couldn't ride a bike - was socially withdrawn, struggling at school and statemented. He now ride's a bike - nags us to go to the school disco and has a reading age just a few months short of his true age - wow what a transformation. We tried to set up a local centre during the problems times but couldn't so we were so pleased to see it's all still going stronger that ever - thanks to Scott and the gang for taking it on.
2010/05/17 12:00:00 AM

Cheryl Just wanted to say on behalf of myself and Dominic, thank you for today... we are both extremely tired but in a positive way. Dominic can't wait to get started on his exercises tomorrow, and he and i would like to thank you for your patience and the supportive, friendly way you welcomed us today. He said on the way home, he 'finally gets it' why he can do stuff but takes so long, and why he can't be as good as he knows he can be. We look forward to seeing you all soon, with progress in mind!
2010/04/30 12:00:00 AM
Anna Thought u might like to know that 6 months after starting the programme, Jamie has made so much progress at school he has been selected to attend Longleat for a day. 2010/04/24 12:00:00 AM

2010/04/14 12:00:00 AM
Elizabeth It took me a year to complete the programme and the main improvement I saw during it was with my memory which was especially appalling for names and getting out what I was trying to say. That was really embarrasing and made me avoid social situations. But the main benefits have happened afterwards. It got me down sometimes when I was doing it that other people had quick improvements. But I know that my cerebellum was pretty bad - I fell off the balance machine twice on my first visit! Things are still improving. Things just become easier as they become automatic now that the cerebellum is working normally. I am far more relaxed in social situations, I don't have panic attacks, my memory is really good now for names and things like that - so conversations are doable now! My organisation has improved a lot. The latest improvement is that I was always tired and couldn't get out of bed - now I am up really early without having to try. Sorry for the long reply but yes some times I really didn't believe it was going to happen. That I would be the one it didn't work for. But it has! Are you doing the programme?
2010/04/12 12:00:00 AM
Donna Thomas has learned to ride his bike. It is a fantastic achievement. After about 4 years of trying and much frustration we had left the bike issue for some time. Thomas tried again on Easter Monday and is now riding his bike completely independently. We are so pleased for him and proud of him.
He has also moved up two levels in reading and also seems to be able to tell the time all of a sudden.
Happy Happy Happy

Barbra My son is on the Dore programme and has been for 4 months. He is making great progress but sometimes it is hard to explain to others exactly what that progress is.

Jackie Luke (13) received a fantastic school report yesterday. Behaviour, Homework, Attainment, Targets all excellent and/or Very Good. He/we finished DORE this week. Whooppeee.
2010/03/27 12:00:00 AM
Lorraine Dominic had his end of term school report yesterday and we are thrilled at his progress. We are only 3 months into our programme and already he is improving in all areas. His teacher says he has progressed from a reading age of 7 years and 5 months to 8 years and 2 months since the end of November 2009! Absolutely brilliant!
2010/03/25 12:00:00 AM
Jackie A massive whoop whoop to my B E A Utiful first born Luke (13) who was told by Neil today that he has FINISHED and is on wind downs for 2 weeks and thats it! Yes, thats it. We can't believe it and we also can't thank Charlie, Neil, Natalie, Dr Sara and the lovely Donna (aka Catherine) enough for all the help, advice & support. You are second to none and darn bloody fantastic at what you do. My only grievance is 'where's my medal?' x
2010/03/08 12:00:00 AM
Harj Jaipal just finished the Dore programme a week ago. We had his Parents Evening this week, and were absolutley blown away with the teachers comments. From being a child who at 6 was told he couldn't sit his SATS, because he wouldn't manage them, to now being told he is top of his class for some subjects, and will be doing 9 GCSE's.
2010/03/06 12:00:00 AM
