After a twelve year drought, the Sharks have finally reclaimed their beloved Currie Cup Trophy. On 25 October 2008 the Sharks, regarded by some as the underdogs, took on the Blue Bulls in a Currie Cup final which promised to be a nail-biter. The Sharks, who completed the Dore Sport Programme for Elite Athletes just 2 months before the final, proved that consistency and accuracy in every part of the game can be just as important as size and strength.
After 6 months of daily Dore exercises it appears that the Dore programme was one of the contributing factors to the Sharks glorious win. The players worked hard at their exercises and even had positive comments about their experience on the Dore Programme. On completing the programme Jacques Botes said "Dore has really helped my reaction time, it has definitely improved my co-ordination and ability to focus better on the ball".
The Dore team would like to commend the Sharks on their commitment to the programme as well as congratulate them on the fantastic win!
